Names of the Innocent is like no other band you have heard. Their songs will get stuck in your head - this is a good thing.
I want to play music that people can relate to
I want my song to get stuck in your head
I want you to have a good time watching us play
I dont want to sound just like everyone else
I want to play hard, and play loud
These phrases are the sayings that make up names of the innocent, a new rock band from Arizona. With members from Prescott and Mesa, all four members bring a unique talent and taste, which create a powerful combined sound. Each member has been in different bands in the past, yet each one agrees this one is the most special. Everything just fits together perfectly.
names of the innocent was formed in August 2003 by Jeremy Betts. Jeremy (vocals, guitar) had just recently moved back to Arizona from New York, and was eager to get a new band together. He met Jesse (drums) and Steve (bass) Moser, who have been playing together their whole lives, and started writing songs with them. Jeremy then remembered an old friend he had played with in the past. Soon after, Ben Hall (guitar, vocals) was added to the mix. As mentioned earlier, everything just fit together perfectly. Anyone who has listened to their debut album agrees that it has a great sound and feel. Their shows are equally as energetic and fun.
Who do you sound like? Yeah, like all new bands, they are asked that very question. The truth is, they do not know. All they say is who their influences are, and the listener can make their own comparisons. The influences are (in no particular order): The Smashing Pumpkins, Dave Matthews Band, The Who, Sleater-Kinney, Van Halen, Metallica, Elliott Smith, and Led Zeppelin.
names of the innocent has started playing in the Arizona area in cafes and small clubs. As word of the band has grown, these venues are no longer large enough to hold the crowds at times. This makes the band feel good, and makes them play louder, harder, and with more feeling each time. Perhaps someday soon, the one reading this will see them too.
We play live in the state of Arizona. We always have a great time and try to play whenever possible. Every song we perform has a special moment.
