If you like melodic Electronica music or "old fashioned" computer music with dancable grooves and a touch of electric guitar, AmadorA is for you. AmadorA is a pseudonym of Gerry Tentler.
I started to record my own music in 1985, with a guitar, a keyboard and a simple tape recorder. Later, when I earned my own money, I was able to buy some better equipment and do it more professionally. I was serving in the military then, and some comrades listened to my music and asked me to copy it for them. That's how it all started.
I do perform live on stage, but only as a guitar or bass player in rock bands. The songs of AmadorA have never been performed live on stage - as far as I know.
Mike Oldfield, Jean-Michel Jarre, Vangelis, Tangerine Dream
In the 80s I used an Atari ST, a Roland D 550, a Yamaha DX 11, a Casio synthesizer (can't remember the model, something like "CZ..." I think), a Roland sound module (something like "M 50" I guess) and a 4 track tape recorder.
In the 90s (in Japan) I used a Roland MIDI recording system (8 track I think, can't remember the model), later a PC (80486/66 MHz), a Yamaha MU80 sound module, a Roland S 50 and an 8 track tape recorder (forgot anything about it).
I also always used a guitar with different multi effectors, and sometimes a bass guitar.
Please don't expect high quality recording. When I made these songs, I used only simple tape decks. Later I copied them from tape to mini disks, and now I copied them again from mini disk to harddisk, then turned the resulting WAVE files into MP3 files again and uploaded them to this website. You see, lots of copying, and some of the tapes were reeeeally old. You can hear that especially in the silent parts. So again, please don't expect professional quality!
