R.A.P. is an acronym which stands for Revelation And Power. The group is currently made up of 3 individuals Joseph Bell, Andre Johnson, and Timothy Ferrell. Both Joseph and Tim create and produce all the the music and all 3 members write their own lyrics. They are currently looking for a DJ even though Tim used to get busy on the wheels of steel back in the day. Tim, Joseph, and Andre all grew up together on the east side of Des Moines Iowa. They still reside in Des Moines Iowa and all 3 are married with children. Music, specifically hip-hop music and culture has always been a part of their lives from break dancing to Dee Jaying and now rapping.
Beginning in 1981 they formed a break dance crew of 6 members (5 males and 1 female) which lasted until 1983. In 1984 Tim started showing interest in DJing parties and making mix tapes and scratching. It wasn't until mid 1985 that Tim started writing lyrics and producing rap music. Then in 1988 Joseph and Tim hooked up again and started producing hip-hop and rap music for themselves as well as 4 other local rap groups. The name of their record label was Royalty Productions.
In March of 1990 Tim received Yahshua the anointed as the propitiation and propitiator for his sins and began producing gospel rap music thus severing ties with the popular local rap group. Joseph who was still in the group took ownership of the group and started his own record label Black Raider Productions. Joseph a.k.a. Shank produced all the groups tracks in addition to producing tracks for other groups like Trespass, LDQ, Adrean, and Dre. In June of 1996 Joseph finally accepted Yahshua the anointed as the propitiation and propitiator for his sins.
Joseph and Tim got together again shortly after that but this time with a mission and a purpose. Both Tim and Joseph are now ordained ministers of the gospel of Yahshua the anointed preaching the Most High's unadulterated Word without compromise to all who will hear. They have established through the leading of the Holy Spirit and YAH's will Revelation and Power Ministries Inc. based out of Des Moines, Iowa. They also have a record label called RAP Records. They released their debut CD RAP 2001 (bet you can't guess what year it was released) which was a compilation of songs that had been written a few years earlier. But now they are back in studio again preparing for their sophomore release (which hasn't been named yet). Both are excited about the new project because it will clearly display their growth as music artists and lyricists.
Joseph has been married for 13 years and he and his wife have 1 son. Tim has been married for almost 17 years and he and his wife have 4 children. Both Tim and Joseph are ordained ministers of the gospel of Jesus Christ and are powerful preachers and teachers of the Word of God. We both have a passion to see people both young and old surrender their lives to Jesus Christ and give him the preeminence in their lives. Ultimately every single person will stand before the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob to give an account to him as to whether they received, believed, and trusted in Jesus Christ or rejected the ONLY way back to God says Tim. We don't apologize for the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ because we know and have seen what Jesus the Christ has done in our lives, our wives and childrenÂÂs lives and further than that, we've seen what he's done in other peoples lives and it's exciting to know that you serve a living God. The God who is so interested in our everyday lives. The God who created us with a purpose and a specific plan. To NOT discover your purpose is tragic because it means that you don't know who you truly are and what it means to have life.
We "play" live. We have alot of fun too. We go to youth groups and correctional facilities for both youth and adults, male and female. We've done live concerts at churches and in various parks. We love what we do because it has touched and changed so many young peoples lives.
The Holy Spirit is who influences our music totally. Yahshua the anointed is steady directin' us, protectin' us, helping us keep from wreckin' us, and while all you peeps is checkin' us, we be blazin' mics for the Most High cause he's expectin' us....
