Marcus Davis - Borrowed Time
Serious Nubian is a Recording Studio Moniker name that I use when i'm creating my music projects .I'm a Multi-Instrumentalist Instrumentalist Musician that uses the Bass/Synths/Drum Programming/Vocodor Vocals as means of expression and creating multi-layered keyboard patches along with some heavy rhythmic bass playing supplemented by Jazzy Funky type Instrumental grooves.
Band/artist history
Originally born in London UK but migrated to Canada in the late 1980's played in a variety of bands in the Toronto area ranging from Reggae,R&B,Funk/Rock Relocated to the States and played in a Jazz combo and an R&B review band playing mainly in the south.Returned to the uk to perform as a One Man Band Instrumentalist Musician Serious Nubian .Now based back in Canada ,I run Ultimate Vibe Audio Music Productions Studio ,Composing and Recording my compositions as well as hosting a podcast.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Yes i have played live ,my last gig was in Toronto 2012 at The Central Bar after that i joined a band called Coldjack .Since then i'v been focused more on recording and composing ,plus i collaborated and played with Coldjack who i don't play with anymore ,left them last summer.More focused on my music and podcast and establishing my brand.Special moments playing at the Jazz Club in Reading uk in 2000,the place was packed the pa was a piece of shit but we tore the place up did 3 encores that night. Also The Central Bar in Toronto back in 2012,hardly anybody showed up ,but the overall sound was perfect ,Torontos loss.Thinking about playing as a solo Instrumentalist again not sure yet because back then i was humping all my Keybaords,Basses, and amps by myself. If i had the right offer though that would convince me to do it.
