SHORES OF TUNDRA started up in 2003 as a two-man collaboration in an effort to produce raw aggressive old school death metal in the vein of early ENTOMBED. After successfully finding a drummer and a second guitarist (Sludge), the band went on to play few, select shows in the Vancouver area, also recruiting current drummer/bassist (formerly just on bass duties) David Power. The first demo tape was titled "Gates of the Arctic" (20 copies) and was released independently by the band. This opened up to more local gigging with such acts as INFERNAL MAJESTY and ARCTIC CIRCLE. In June 2006, the first full-length, which was a self-titled CD-R in a mere 25 copies, was independently distributed by the band. This gave way to more local and out-of-town gigs, eventually leading up to a 4-piece without a drummer. D BACIU now runs WARGOAT RECORDS and the plan for the full-length is for it to be re-released in 500 copies under WARGOAT. D POWER plays session drums for the time being, until the band finds the right drummer. A split 7" is planned with Philippine war maniacs DEIPHAGO and to be released on WARGOAT RECORDS summer 2007.
