Still
The song ist about the resilience of faith in times of adversity. Would you STILL believe, if you are forced to leave your home, if you suffer from dementia or if you loose your love?

Hold onto yourself
This is my latest song (end of 2024) about the habit of us humans to constantly compare ourselves to others. Others are more beautiful, richer, smarter, have more self-confidence. That is a recipe for unhappiness. Be yourself. You will be happier.

Don't let me down
This song is a little experiment with Apple Loops. I put them together as building blocks in Logic Pro, wrote some lyrics and the song was finished.

I am retired and therefore have the privilege of being able to spend a lot of time on my favorite hobby. I sing in two choirs, one of which is purely a cappella (my favorite). I play a lot of guitar, in recent years a lot of fingerpicking and I am writing my own songs. And I really enjoy singing, previously as a lead singer in various bands, now mainly in my two choirs (vocal range: bass). I love to listen to music and have a very broad taste, from classical to rock, pop, country, musicals and even live jazz. I taught myself to play the guitar. So my technical skills are limited. But that's not a problem, I prefer melodic guitar playing with fewer notes and more rests anyway. I also really enjoy recording songs. The corresponding applications have improved massively in the last few decades and nowadays even amateurs can make recordings of reasonable quality. What is certain, however, is that I want to continue to write my own songs and will not resort to AI. I would be happy to get in touch with other songwriters and exchange ideas about our hobby.
