!!! Music Beyond Genre Boundaries !!!
We are a producer duo with support of several other artists. Not focused on any particular genre, we are doing what comes to our mind and makes us have a good time in our studio. Influenced by Metal, Punk, Grunge and Goth we are creating a variety of different styles, so the songs do not relate to a single genre like a traditional band, it's more like several bands from different genres. Crossover in it's most original sense. Therefore we also keep our artwork mostly abstract. To achieve this artistic freedom, we disrespect limitations and push the extreme.
SMOTCH is Steve Stereo and Steve Hammer
history: We started this project about 25 years ago, in non profit way, within our own studio. A 16 track tape machine, guitar equippment, lot's of synthesizers, a drum machine and a PC built our technical foundation, with which we were doing composing, recording, mixing and mastering on our own. Early we added video projections to our live performances and started collaborating with other aritists. After finishing university and starting our carrers as electronic engineer and business economist, we had less time, so we did some optimization to our creativ process. Removing the option of live performances, we highly optimized our process to composing and recording only, now fully digital So after creating almost 100 songs, we started releasing our stuff, new current songs, but also existing ones.
