Envy for Eden's sound is a melodic mix of downtempo, cinematic, and ambient nuances from American composer Scotty Morris.
Before launching this solo project "Envy for Eden", I was a singer/guitarist/songwriter for several original bands. Lots of live gigs and lots of great memories.
U2, Depeche Mode, OMD, Erasure, and the Cure were bands I grew up on.
Radiohead, Penny & Sparrow, Mumford & Sons, and Coldplay were guitar bands that had the biggest influence.
Electronic music influences all over the place. But the bigger names are: Tycho, Helios, Jon Hopkins, Ulrich Schnauss, and Gabriel & Dresden to name several.
Main songwriting tool is my Korg Kronos, Korg Triton, Martin guitar, and my voice.
I've stripped away a lot of what I felt like clutter. Lights off with just the glow of my Kronos display. I focus on me and the music.
