We are Thrown To The Wolves, and acoustic duo based out of Northern New Hampshire. Consisting of Freak (Guitar and Vocals) and JD TwoStrings (Fiddle).Band/artist history
We met at an open mic in Northern Vermont. A couple of weeks later we met up to play some tunes together. JD was playing his guitar at that point and the playing styles between the two didn't quite match up. It was at this point that JD mentioned he also played fiddle. Excited, Freak told him to take it out. They synced up perfectly, and from that point on a band was formed.
The Covid-19 outbreak hit not long after, so the duo had to cancel their 250 gig season and focused on fine tuning their sound and recording their first album. Since then they have pushed themselves and drastically improved their sound, and are now playing in front of live audiences again.Have you performed in front of an audience?We have and continue to play in front of live audiences. That's the best part, feeding off the energy of the crowd. We actually were invited to play at Jerry Jam (a local music festival in NH) this year and are beyond excited for the opportunity!
Your musical influences
The Blind Owl Band is one of our biggest influences. Some others would be Brown Bird, Billy Strings, Lost Dog Street Band - there's honestly too many to list them all.What equipment do you use?
We keep it simple. I (Freak) play my Acoustic/Electric Taylor and JD plays a vintage fiddle made in Germany in the 1800's.READ MORE
