Boom Boom
Light, joyous. Having a wedding? Just starting school? About to get that new job? Tonight's the night? Then this song is for you, and the 'boom boom' is your heart right now, just thinking about it.

Hello. Welcome to the world of KAJSA OHMAN.
Band/artist history
I have played music in some form all my life. First performance: a Daughters of the American Revolution tea in Morrisville, Vermont, in 1955. My bands were The Scragg Family, The Rough Riders, Tara, Zula, True Grit. Some acts I've opened for or played on stage with: Spirit, Doc Watson, Jerry Garcia Band, Loggins&Messina, Elvin Bishop, Eric Burdon, Brownie McGee & Sonny Terry, The Dillards, Clarence White, JJ Cale, John-Marc Almond, etc.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I will play live until I die; after that, my cd's and records will play. I've played in venues as far apart as the '63 Monterey Folk Festival and the Top Hat in Missoula. The Ash Grove in Hollywood; Tulagi's, Boulder; Boardinghouse, San Francisco; Golden Bear, Huntington Beach, and really, about every club on the west coast. Lots of college concerts. Countless roadhouses, parties, weddings, and one cowboy funeral. Radio, TV. Do I like it? Yes and no.
Your musical influences
Edith Piaf--John Jacob Niles--Leadbelly--Clarence White--most Elizabethan, baroque, classical--Susan Reed--Bill Munroe--Doc Watson--Claus Meine--Memphis Minnie--Merle Haggard--Connie Smith--Joan Baez--numerous nameless singers and players on Folkways Records, and Hamish Henderson--Stanley Brothers--Carter Family--Geula Gil and Dov Seltzer--okay, stop me when you get the drift.
What equipment do you use?
I play a 1953 Martin D28. OK, you want electronics. I sometimes play a Fernandez Burny over a borrowed amp. In my dreams I sing through an RCA ribbon mike.
Anything else?
Much as I love to talk, I think I've about said it.

High, Wide and Hansome I was speaking of. Great song.
Great song. You have an original take on songwriting, I can't think of anyone you sound like and that's a compliment. Enjoyed myself...I'm listening to it again as I type actually. Really nice song and the guitar playing is great too.
HI kajsa,
this is wendy. I was just sitting and listening to your music. talk about bringing back alot of memories. I would love to write you and let you know how i am doing. write me if interested.. Just to let you know, one day you told me i should learn to sing. Well I have done that. I sang with a country blues band for about 3 years. It's become a real passion for me. Just a small local band. But to me it was the worlds biggest stage. I've been clean for going on 8 years and have made some big changes in my life. Alot because of You and your family. I loved you all then as I do today. Your apart of my life I loved, hated, am ashamed of and rejoice over. you will always be the family I pushed away. Give Gene my best and tell him I never see or hear a fiddle that I don't think of him. If you would like please write me at wendyohmy38@yahoo.com.
Really all it is healthy. I listen and enjoy. Though itself such I do not write. Call on!!! At me absolutely fresh tracks. Good luck!!!
