Boom Boom

Light, joyous. Having a wedding? Just starting school? About to get that new job? Tonight's the night? Then this song is for you, and the 'boom boom' is your heart right now, just thinking about it.

Acoustic General

Hello. Welcome to the world of KAJSA OHMAN.
Band/artist history
I have played music in some form all my life. First performance: a Daughters of the American Revolution tea in Morrisville, Vermont, in 1955. My bands were The Scragg Family, The Rough Riders, Tara, Zula, True Grit. Some acts I've opened for or played on stage with: Spirit, Doc Watson, Jerry Garcia Band, Loggins&Messina, Elvin Bishop, Eric Burdon, Brownie McGee & Sonny Terry, The Dillards, Clarence White, JJ Cale, John-Marc Almond, etc.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I will play live until I die; after that, my cd's and records will play. I've played in venues as far apart as the '63 Monterey Folk Festival and the Top Hat in Missoula. The Ash Grove in Hollywood; Tulagi's, Boulder; Boardinghouse, San Francisco; Golden Bear, Huntington Beach, and really, about every club on the west coast. Lots of college concerts. Countless roadhouses, parties, weddings, and one cowboy funeral. Radio, TV. Do I like it? Yes and no.
Your musical influences
Edith Piaf--John Jacob Niles--Leadbelly--Clarence White--most Elizabethan, baroque, classical--Susan Reed--Bill Munroe--Doc Watson--Claus Meine--Memphis Minnie--Merle Haggard--Connie Smith--Joan Baez--numerous nameless singers and players on Folkways Records, and Hamish Henderson--Stanley Brothers--Carter Family--Geula Gil and Dov Seltzer--okay, stop me when you get the drift.
What equipment do you use?
I play a 1953 Martin D28. OK, you want electronics. I sometimes play a Fernandez Burny over a borrowed amp. In my dreams I sing through an RCA ribbon mike.
Anything else?
Much as I love to talk, I think I've about said it.
