I miss my Dad (davebyersmusic.com)

My dad Dave Byers passed away in 1999. He was very special. Watch the movie courageous and be special in someones life. Make a difference. Make an impact in someones life like my dad did for me.
Dave has been writing songs since 1979. He is the founder of www.christiansongwriting.org and www.writingsongs.com He is the author of the book entitled "Songwriting Fundamentals." Dave has been recording since the day he began writing in 1979. He is very happily married to Christine and they have 3 of the coolest kids on the planet and reside in Ohio.
Band/artist history
I've done solo for many years. Formed the 3:16 band and did that for about 5 years and then went solo for a year and now I formed Dave Byers and the Ohio River Band and we'll be out this spring/summer.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Yes. I did a lot of fairs and festivals last year and plan to do them again this year. Inside concerts are nice, but there's something about outdoor events I like. Lots of people stroll by who might not of normally heard you.
Your musical influences
I am influenced by many styles. I grew up on Lynyrd Skynyrd and the southern rock thing. Bands I was in played southern rock, outlaw country, classic rock and so on. I also love blues music. B.B. King, Etta James and many more. In gospel music I like Stephen Curtis Chapman, Bryan Duncan, old allies and other bands. There's country in my music and I love that Brent Mason (played on Alan Jackson etc.) guitar, Albert Lee style telecaster.
What equipment do you use?
Ahh the ever chase for tone. :-) Currently playing my Eric Clapton strat the most though I also use a Les Paul and tele. I've been using the Line 6 podhd500 for amp sounds. I use cakewalk sonar producer for recording along with Guitar rig, bass podxt, Washburn bass, Korg keyboard to a Roland sound module, AKG mic, TC Helicon vocal processor, yamaha monitors,, roland v-drum kit with toontracks - superior drummer and a Brian Moore guitar to a roland gr-33 sometimes.
Anything else?
Check out my site http://davebyersmusic.com for latest events etc. and word on the upcoming cd this spring. :-)
