Over the years I played songs without knowing alot about them and at the time didnt care. After doing some song research for a particular band project I dug more deeply than I thought I ever would into the classic blues. It inspired me to start writing and recording many songs ( which can be found at soundclick artist page 'daveski'). This site is all about the songs of those artists that inspired me the most and influenced me to write the songs I did. Muddy Waters, Howling Wolf, Robert Johnson, Jimmy Reed, BB King, Jr. Parker, Eddie Boyd, T-Bone Walker, Willie McTell, Koko Taylor, Sonny Boy Williamson.........
Band/artist history
Kenny (drums) and I started jamming together because we both liked classic blues. Bill (bass on songs) joined up with us and Terry (keys, vocals) filled in the voids . I do the guitar and most of the vocals.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
All of us have had a few hours in front of audiences and for us thats what it is all about. We take on a new life when playing live.
Your musical influences
All of the classic blues players inspire me. I keep discovering new artists and we are constantly adding songs to our repertoire.
What equipment do you use?
I play guitars and do most of the vocals because nobody else was around to do them. Yamaha EG-112 and Indiana strat copy. Ibanez mini short scale bass. Those with arthritus will understand. A variety of Peavey combo amps and a Behringer bass head thru a couple 12's. Videos recorded by Bethski with no mods. Songs recorded on a variety of mini recorders with no mods. Experimented with placement in the room to get the best balance, etc.
Anything else?
Lucky to be alive in Central Florida.
