Well, born & raised in KY - moved to TX age 5, perfect pitch (age 6), & after 50 yrs playing pro, now, been retired for 15 yrs. WHAT?? Yep, I retired at age 56!! Done EVERYTHING in my life bass-ack=werds anyway - so, I figgered WHY NOT!!
dad taught me the 5 chords HE knew - after 2 weeks, I had already learned over 50 songs! Hard? well, having perfect pitch is a big plus!! Change along the way - yes, occasionally people might give me a quarter!
Performed all over in bluegrass festivals, & special events! Most memorable? Materson Station Park, Lexington, KY performed before 7,700 people - 4 day bluegrass festival!
Age 8, had 1st piano recital, & 1st standing ovation - then, age 9, met "Uncle Bill" Monroe & thr Blue Graass boys at church in KY! In 2010, I played in Rosine!! On the same card as Ralph Stanley - got his autograph, too!
Gibson "hummingbird"acoustric/electric & Alvarez acoustic - Fender dual shoman amp, & 4 Shure mics - ready to go!!
Now, age 71, I just make music to bring back the good ole days!
