"Sonorus Sanctum" was #1 on the mp3.com.au acoustic charts on 3/12/04
...Beltana is a vocalist from the US who sings original tunes full of dark, soulful beauty. Beltana is now working on new music at Wolvenwold, in the Southern Missouri Ozarks.
Bel will be working on solo material, playing some solo gigs, and playing some gigs with SONA TBA!
I have been with groups SONA, Chaos/Bliss, F9, Doc Rockers, the RKO Radio Band, Killer Tomatoes, and a couple of others... to weird to mention. I've had a lot of fun. I'm really enjoying just taking this time to write solo.
I've done everything from dixieland jazz, blues and rock and roll to bluegrass, waltz styled music, and chants. I am pretty all over the place with my musical stylings... but am trying to find somewhat of a common ground, or a theme... at least for this current album. I think my music has a fairly ethereal sound that is pretty original. More coming soon.
I've played at several great festivals around the US, in New York, Ohio, Indiana, Missouri, Texas... PSG, Starwood, Sirius Rising, Heartland, CMA Beltane, Summerset, Spring Fire, PPD events in Texas... and a few here at home. I am taking some time off from touring to write new material for a project upcoming, and to settle in with my family and new baby at Wolvenwold. We have also opened up a new shop here in Mountain View, Missouri, offering stained glass, massage therapy, quality used books, and Tai Chi classes.
Led Zeppelin, Yes, Heart, Fleetwood Mac, Janis Joplin, The Doors, Green Crown, Dreamtrybe, No Doubt, Missing Persons, The Cure, Pale Divine, Bauhaus, Dead Can Dance, Bioled in Lead, Enigma, World music, Latin, Gypsy, Indian, Bosnian, Celtic, Scottish, Jazz, Blues, Classical, Opera, Symphonic, Ska... good old Rock and Roll.
I love my Audio Tech mike... Aspire conga drums, and Taylor Big Baby guitar...
I was # 3 on the Rock & Rock/Pop charts, the week of 2/24/04, at mp3.com.au. On 3/12/04, The song "Sonorous Sanctum," was # 1 on the acoustic charts there. And that is something that we put together as a sample track, in one take, my first somg on guitar. That is my new favorite song.
