Band/artist history
Some time agomy family and friends bought me a Stratocaster electric guitar. It was something I was hinting on for some time, calling it my personal "midlife crisis moment". I just felt the need to learn, play and eventually record my own electric guitar covers of some (IMHO) iconic songs starting from the Fifties up to 2018.
At almost the same time a documentary was showing by the famous Belgian war correspondent rudi Vranckx who collected broken and old musical instruments and brought them to empty handed Iraqi musicians who tried to survive in the destroyed city of Mosul. Rudi Vranckx gave these musicians a new goal in their lives, but also a personal tool (the instrument) to shout their anger and frustration out loud.
This documentary got me thinking about how simple it was for me to pick up the guitar, create and record any idea I had, or mood I was in, at my humble home studio.
I was then searching a way to combine both things : enjoying my music creation and at the same time helping musicians that need playable instruments.
Two organizations made my dream happen :
Musicfund : an organization without profit,under the High Patronage of Her Majesty the Queen Mathilde, whose mission it is to give young people living in conflict zones and/or poor regions the chance to practise music in suitable conditions.
Soundclick : the website that lets you upload your music creations and sell them online.READ MORE
