I'm Gavin Parished, I've spent most of my life on a Native American reservation in the upper peninsula of Michigan. I started my internet career on YouTube doing variety content, wanting to switch up and properly release music in late 2017. But I've been making music since 2016, I've worked with a few music softwares like Soundtrap, Bandlab and FL Studio to make produce and mix. Music has been a big part of my life for a while now so I love making it and making new friends through that. As of recently collaboration has been my favorite so other artists have been a bigger part of my career than they were before. I've moved from alternative music to a more traditional underground hiphop sound mixed with other popular genres such as boom bap, lofi and trap or acoustic and DnB outside of hiphop.
I first started uploading to SoundCloud in November, 2017. I dropped my debut project, The Beats Inside My Head, and would drop mashups of other artists. I found SoundTrap and started using it to produce, with all the music on my first 3 projects being made primarily on SoundTrap. As of now I've released a handful of projects and am continuing to work harder than ever before. I've gotten more into collaboration recently. I've met many artists through TikTok and Twitter and have been making music with dozens of musicians of all types.
Nothing professional, only 2 talent shows from when I was younger.
Musically I've been influenced by XXXTENTACION specifically early on, everything in 2018 to 2019 was hugely inspired by X. Denzel Curry, Kendrick Lamar, Future, Kanye West, Travis Scott and The Weeknd are all also very big influences on what I listen to and what I hope to make. Denzel, JID, Joji and Kendrick Lamar specifically have inspired me lots lately.
At the current music I use a tbone microphone. I produce with the online program Bandlab. Currently my music is being mixed by multiple producers instead rather than myself. I have had multiple different engineers working on my tracks throughout the years as well.
I hope you all enjoy the journey. It's been a long and unpredictable so far and I truly believe in my art. I believe it will go places and I'll continue to improve artistically and of course I just love it. Much love from me, GP, thank you.
