The Mountain Gypsy Project is Jeff Chesnut playing every instrument and all vocals. I have 2 Yamaha AEX 500-N nylon string guitars, a Yamaha AEX-500 steel string guitar,a Yamaha 502 steel string, a Gibson ES 137 Custom hollowbody guitar,a Fender Stratacoustic guitar,a Fender Stratacaster, a Peavey 1988 Generation Series electric solid body guitar, an Ovation acoustic guitar, 2 Gitanes, a D-500 and a DG-255,a Armillio Burget handmade flamenco guitar and handmade Andy Boarman banjo, a borrowed Washburn mandolin, a 1972 Univox bass with 15 year old strings and lots of latin percussion instruments.
I also play a Yamaha YPT-300 electronic keyboard and use very little effects, but the effects I do have are a Digitech RP-100 and a Yamaha AG stomp acoustic guitar processer
Until the age of technology, this would have never happened because of the cost of all the recording equipment. I have a 2002 emachine and a $69 dollar program called MULTITRACKSTUDIO and some good microphones. I use AKG C-4000-B studio mic, an AKG 2000-B, a Peavey Studio Pro and AKG d300b, d320b and a d330b,and of course shure sm58's. I also use Audio Technia lavalier clip on mics.
I play live all the time because if I were dead my fingers wouldn't move
Ray Chesnut, Django Reinhardt, Chet Atkins, Andy Boarman,Paco De Lucia, Carlos Santana, Jimi Hendrix, Earl Scruggs, Don Reno, Larry McNeeley, The Beatles, Cole Porter, George Gershwin, Frank Sinatra, Mel Torme,Jerome Kern,Luiz Bonfa and all the great Bossa Nova and Samba players of brazil and don't let me forget The Gipsy Kings and Ottmar leibert and all of the great flamenco players around the world
The equipment God gave me
I sometimes have a guest performers and when I do it will be noted on the song description. I usually get my friend since 6th grade, Dave Gregory' from Crystal Spring, PA to play double bass and hit some latin percussion instruments
