I started rapping in 1995 when I was six years old and I've been rapping on and off every since then. I never realized how much I really loved music until around 2003 and that's also the same time that I started making beats. As I progressed further in my music writing/creating capabilities, I realized that I'm not confined to one genre or subgenre. I write R&B songs, Rock songs and etcetera. Not only can I do this, but I do it very well, quickly, and efficiently. I don't see myself having any boundaries when it comes to music. Now days I write what I feel whenever I'm writing for myself and whenever I'm featured on another track, I can, and usually do, have the best verse for whatever the topic is. On my soundcloud page, you can see a history of every form of Rap/HipHop made by me. I had other sites too showcasing my other genres but those are no longer running but I might put something up here.
I play the piano and I wish I was better at the guitar. I make beats and write all different genres of music. I don't have the time right now to learn to play anything else because I'm focused on my family and creating the sounds necessary for me and my fellow SRT members.
My mother, father, little sister, and great-grandmother are at the top of the list. After that, I would say my oldest cousin because he's the reason that I started rapping. Afterwards, I would have to mention everyone that I ever have done, or that I am doing, music with because they continue to inspire me to be better. I love writing a verse for a song and hearing a peers verse that is so good it makes me want to rewrite my verse. It doesn't happen often but I love a good competition. Industry wise, my musical influences range all over the place from Mint Condition, Jay-Z, Nas, Jagged Edge, Silk, Con Funk Shun, The Whispers, Dru Hill, Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu, J. Cole, T.I., Young Jeezy, the Notorious BIG, Tupac, Little Brother, Drake, Usher, Brian McKnight, Luther Vandross, Michael Jackson, Pattie Labelle, The Temptations, 112, Eve, the Game, Eminem, Mahalia Jackson, Gerald Lavert, Johnny Gill, Tevin Campbell, Keith Sweat, Kilo Ali, Jermaine Dupri and a lot of other people.
Whatever gets the job done. You have to understand that I came from nothing and I'm still on my way up from that. I've recorded on headsets before to regular pc mics to studio mics and everything. Right now we have a legit studio mic and we us Sony ACID Pro with other programs for mixing and recording. When I finish getting my mobile studio together, it'll be a Blue Yeti microphone instead just because I'm used to that and already know what the sound quality will be. We don't have much, yet, but that's only a good story told in an even better album.
