I started to actively make music when I learnt to play guitar at the age of 15. A friend at school showed me the first chords and since then I played, sometimes more, sometimes less. At the age of 30 I started to write my first own songs, mainly inspired by a big loss. The music helped me hugely to not drown in pessimism and despair. For about 10 years I wrote a lot of songs. Then I entered into the next stage of my life: the family age (which is still ongoing). I found my great love and I became a father of a lovely daughter (our sweetheart) and a wonderful son. The songwriting moved to the background and the job and the family became my main focus for quite a while. Now that our daughter has grown up and left the house and our son is becoming more and more independent, I find more time again to deal with my favorite hobby.
No live concerts. I do not play my own songs outside of my house.
I have many heroes, not only in the popular but also in the classical music. I adore Beethoven, Mozart, Schubert and Chopin, just to mention a few. In the pop arena I was influenced by the bands from my youth, like Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, Led Zeppelin, Moody Blues, Genesis, Eagles, Deep Purple, Ten Year After, later then Dire Straits, Supertramp. There are far too many to mention. I am open to all kind of music, pop, rock, reggae, blues, even jazz if played live. If any of those have influenced my own songwriting, I honestly do not know.
Currently I am using an iMac with Logic Pro X and an Alesis interface to record my music. I have one classical guitar, two western-style acoustic guitars and two electric guitars (one Heritage Les Paul and one Paul Reed Smith Strat).
