Original band from Baltimore. Exotic Groove Metal - Cryptic Matter is the cross-pollination of Steves metal guitarwork with Justins funk-rock drumming resulted in Cryptic Matters unique sound, Exotic Groove Metal, characterized by heavy guitar riffs/solos written in exotic scales, sitar simulators, Middle-Eastern drones, and hypnotic bellydancing-like drum beats. Meanwhile, Adam weaves funky/groovy bass lines underneath Devins screamo/melodic vocal attack. Description We dub our genre "Exotic Groove Metal." Traces of old-school metal, funk, world-beat, hip-hop, alternative, screamo, dance, jamband, jazz, and progressive can be found in our music.
