Latin Grammy Award Winner, James Galvez was born in San Diego, California; and began playing the piano by ear at age 3. At age 13, he composed and produced an original jingle for Sea World. At age 17 he composed and produced the main theme for KVIA channel 7's morning show, "Good Morning El Paso" and "Eyewitness News".
James' experience with arranging, composing, and producing promotional theme music, to producing sound and loop library content, to working with talented artists such as his longtime friend Frankie J, Los Kumbia Kings, Cruz Martinez, and Alicia Villareal (among others) lead James to sign a Non-Exclusive Producer Agreement with Sony Music in 2003.
Prior to his collaboration on record productions that have earned James a Platinum Record, Latin Grammy, and BMI Award, he partnered with M-Audio/Avid, the leading provider of digital audio and MIDI solutions to produce Sample CD Loop's for their Pro Sessions library. In August of 2002, he produced Latin Street and Latin Elements. Both were released for worldwide distribution in August of 2003.
Currently, James continues to partner with Venevision International as a songwriter, composer, producer and is continuously working on new material.
On occasion, and I love it. For me, every moment is special when I perform. However, I mainly like to work behind the scenes -- which is where I find most comfort.
Because music is a form of art (as well as a mood transmitted by the artist and entire production team), I love all types of music. Therefore, I find an influence in everyone's music. For each genre there is good music and there is bad music. I prefer the good music, regardless of the style or genre.
Music producers that influence me the most are: Quincy Jones, BT, Baby Face, and Red One.
