These mc's perceive life as a destructive force. We as one unit devise what we've lived through as a mechanic for our own music. In turn our words have become weapons. Don't believe it? Come and chat with us and you will be left exhiled from the living."
Band/artist history
Began with just recording with a tape recorder at Spida' Monk aka Alchemino's (at that time named Skitzo) crib where me (at that time named Tha Lyrikal Bullet/Strictly # 1) and several local rhymers wrote in our notebooks and spit on a tape over instrumentals and slanged them around the school. We were called as a whole Nay-Shon cause of the diversity in races in our crew (Two Black kids, a spanish kid, and a white boy). This crew eventually split except for Spida' Monk as we developed in styles and became Distortion. We were still making tracks but this time around on a little Kharioke machine in my basement and the sound was much crisper (plus we could dub over to emphasize lyrics and make echoes for hooks and freestyle verses) We slanged those tapes around the schools and we got a very nice exposure with that. But then in 12th grade I began an after school battle session that literally became a school wide function on Wednesday afternoons. I was the host and champion of the sessions. Spida' Monk eventually introduced me to Masta' Po who I freestyled for and dropped several written lyrics. We spit for hours and he refused to flow after me. He demanded me to join his company immediately after and we've been currently recording with Melophobia Records sponsored by On-The-I.com, an online radio Masta' Po is producer and beat maker for ASYLUM
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I personally have played live at several talent shows and have also participated in SEVERAL after school freestyle sessions that occurd at our school every Wednesday. And of course performing for people at House Parties was an every weekend thing. I've gone to battle rap competitions and left empty handed. Koga Monks went to a show and actually had a situation involving Bloods. Masta' Po (As Roach) served him a freestyle and the cat had to get held back to prevent our Producer from getting attacked. It was crazy.
