Wopo, born in the Bronx raised in Harlem. At the age of 12 he got his first experience in recording when his cousin introduced him to the rap group Third eye, Jessy West and Tru Color, who later produced tracks for artists like Heavy D, Biggie, Nine, and a list of others. Soon after Wopo was introduced to Charlemagne, of Natural Elements/Fortress/Nervous Records, who went on to produce tracks for Jay-Z’s Blueprint Album and Jermaine Dupri’s 1472 album. While collaborating with these artists Wopo learned how to form a song with hooks and concepts.
Wopo wanted to perfect his own gift of rapping, he sliced it up into a million pieces, sat down and studied the puzzle, thus forming his own style, unique to anything you have ever heard, his voice alone demands attention, even from non rap listeners. Wopo teamed up with Rap Predator of Queens Bridge; they put their minds and money together and formed Black Flag RecordsHave you performed in front of an audience?This exposure led him into doing shows on a regular basis.
