Scott Craven, a.k.a." DJ Craven", is an 8 year veteran to the DJ scene and he uses that to his advantage every time he gets up on stage to perform. Craven taught himself how to scratch by watching various shows like "Da' Bassment" "YO! MTV Raps" and more. He acquired his first mixer and turntables at age 16 and started DJing his first house parties at the age of 17.
DJ Craven has been spinning, for an impressive, twelve years now and has not stopped growing since day one. His diversified tastes of music and comprehensive knowledge of nearly every genre makes him a very powerful player in this scene.
The DJ Industry is a very fast-pace and aggressive business to be in. Now 28, Craven has stayed on top of all of the most ground-breaking technological advances this industry has seen and has still found a way to stay true to his roots by keeping the turntables as his choice for battle. Craven's ability to cater to the crowd has made him one of the most respected DJs in the Southeast United States today.
These days you can catch Craven at his upscale co-op's, the VUE Lounge in Augusta on random Friday nights and Athens' lavish Aftermath on UGA home game Saturday Nights. Craven isn't just spinning records these days, he is now learning to mix music videos in real time which has added a totally new and exciting element to his show.
There have been many influencing people in Craven's life that have inspired him to spin the way he does. DJ Jazzy Jeff, and DJ A.M. (R.I.P.), DJ Richie Rich, and KiDD Star, just to name a few.
Craven's dissonant blend of techno, break-beat, and electro-pop has added to his already formidable reputation as one of the foremost all-around DJ's in the club scene. His diverse tastes range from House to Hip Hop and Country to Southern Rock and beyond. Every Show, Craven's love of music, will be resound in his audience.
