Raising Ruins is a European Folk band who sings for the Creator, Saviour God, Jesus Christ (Yeshua).
Band/artist history
Raising Ruins was started early 2010 by Tim Hazzard, who was recording a solo EP at the time. After jamming with Dan Van Werkhoven and Leisl he asked them to join him. After a year of work their debut EP is now finished. Shortly after the EP was released Marieka Hazzard joined the band as percussionist, glockenspiel player and backing vocals. Tim and Dan then went on rampage of song writing and quickly wrote a dozen new tunes. Out of that dozen they narrowed it down to one to release as a single while they worked on recording their new album. That single is Empty Sailor.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
As a new band, we're only just starting to play live, so not many special moments yet - besides the pleasure of seeing people enjoy our music, and being able to speak about God through our music.
Your musical influences
Tim and Dan both come from a hard rock/metal background, but have recently taken to playing acoustic music. Both enjoy listening to bands from Breaking Benjamin and Dream Theater to Erik Mongrain, Sons of Korah and Mumford and Sons.
