Band/artist history
The Mission Dolls are:
Sasha - Vocals and Guitar
Papa Jon - Guitar and Vocals
The Rev - Bass
Bea Gayle - Drums and Percussion
The Mission Dolls originally began as a duo. Vocalist Sasha and guitarist Jon Murphy met in November 2002, and within weeks were creating music together. Their songwriting and harmonies remain at the core of the band today. Rev heard the two perform, as "Sasha & Jon", at a local open mic night and responded to their internet ad for a bass player. From the first evening, the three clicked musically. Drummer Bea Gayle was the missing piece to the puzzle. Sasha had known of her work with other groups, and convinced her to sit in for a session. The band had found their heartbeat.
The newly formed quartet took their name from the Broadway musical Guys & Dolls, and began playing local shows. The Mission Dolls are crafting a unique sound, which complements their strong songwriting and musicianship. Through their live performances, the band is steadily finding their audience. For as serious as they are about their art, there is an infectious sense of fun when this band takes the stage. The Mission Dolls are committed to fulfilling their destiny.Your musical influences
