Suspekt graced this world with his presence in 1987. Raised by a single parent, life wasn't as luxurious as some nor was it handed to him on a silver platter. At points in his early childhood, him and his mother, and brother, were having to live in motels, hardly eating. At even a lower point, living in a car, maybe eating nothing for a day or two at a time. With the wear and tear of a divided household and the stresses of constantly being on the move, he began to experience difficulties throughout school.
Feeling like he had something to prove and not knowing anyone kept him on his toes and lead to a life of fighting. In fifth grade he received several threats to be sent to jail, and by the time he reached middle school he was placed in a program similiar to boot camp for troubled youth. At a mere age of fifteen he had achieved his first strike and landed himself behind bars. After being locked up, he realized he needed to focus on his future. With always doing music, it was of course, put first before everything. That became his main focus. Struggling to create a hit or a buzz, it almost became a second thought, asking himself many times if it was for him or not. The love for music just stuck to him.
To make a long story short, he was stressed over some personal matters, and flipped out. He then was placed behind bars for Assault w/ a Deadly Weapon w/o Intent To Kill. He then had to start over, leaving Florida, and coming back to South Carolina. Now, back on the grind, he's been pushin' heavy in the streets and all around South Carolina. With his name finally buzzin' and connections finally connectin', he's ready more than ever. Bouncin' back isn't easy when you're constantly under the radar. But, Suspekt has shown that, with a hard determination, and great love, you can make it happen. Some say he's on the road to fame.
He just believes he's ready to make history.
Whichever it is, he's ready!
15 years in the game.
There's not a lot of outlets in South Carolina, so whenever the oppertunity does come to perform, he performs. The latest performance was in Columbia, SC at Club Mirror Lounge.

Southern Music had a big influence, although it's not the only influence.
I grew up listening to a diverse list of artist, such as Bone Thugs, Tupac, Biggie, Xzibit, DMX, Jay Z, UGK, Paul Wall, Bubba Sparxx, Lil Wyte, + More. I would say paul wall had a big impact on me. Once I saw his video feat. Big Pokey "Sittin' Sidewayz", that just set it off all the way for me. It hit me hard. It was crazy. That definately motivated me to keep it pushin!
