Hello, my name is Cory and I live in St. Louis, Mo. I, with help from Adam, recorded these songs when I was in high school in the great state of Oklahoma. We feel that we should take this opportunity to document this time in our lives. Because a record is a lot like a historical record, so this was a way for us to capture this moment in our musical lives. See, this music just recently resurfaced itself to me through help of Adam, and I felt it should be out in the world for others to hear... we might also expound about this and make new music under the Moniker Mr. Ashe.
Band/artist history
This was started as a way to fuck around with recordings and my friend Drew, who played a lot of the instrumentation, and I were pretty happy with the results. We showed it to a few people and they liked it and we tried to play the songs live a few times, giving strange performances and generating lots of feedback (Both Kinds).
Have you performed in front of an audience?
We played a few times in Oklahoma in 2004-05. Sometimes under different names like: The Ring-a-Ling Brothers, and She's got the Radioactive. We would play with various instruments we didn't know how to play, along with the primary ones we use. All the sounds on our recordings were done by us and not computer generated.
Your musical influences
Frank Zappa, The Books, Animal Collective, Fyodor Dostoyevski, Sonic Youth, The Beach Boys, William S. Burroughs, Beat Happening, Half Japanese.
What equipment do you use?
A Fender Acoustic, An ever growing drum set, Trash barrels, Noise Makers, Recorders, anyone with anything to contribute, people yelling in the background, keyboards from unknown origins, our vocal chords, am radio, records, guitar cases for scratching, and anything else.
Anything else?
We all live in a yellow Submarine.
