The DQYDJPlayers have performed their brand of rock, blues, and country all over the country and have made several live radio appearances, including the nationally syndicated 'Reality Break' on WREK in Atlanta. Rock-and-roller Greg Kihn has raved, 'The road to rock and roll heaven is paved with the bleached skulls of bands like the Don't Quit Your Day Job Players.' Gregory Nicoll, in his SOUTHEAST PERFORMER review of the band’s latest CD, BLUES SPOKEN HERE, wrote, 'Despite their novelty name, if these weekenders can keep coming up with material as good as this, they really should quit their day jobs.'
Band/artist history
The DQYDJPlayers began their life as a jam band in the mid-90s. Their first official concert was in 1996 and they've been at it ever since, performing all over the country for enthusiastic crowds. Over the last few years, there've been some personnel changes. The current lineup is the tightest yet, and the band is looking at the year 2000 as having the potential to be a break-out year.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Yes -- we play live all over the country, from New York clubs to hotels and conferences and festivals all over the country. We love playing live -- it's a pure way to do music, really, with the instant gratification of an audience reaction. If you want a "special moment," listen to "Another Saturday Night in Lubbock" on our CD BLUES SPOKEN HERE for =that= lovely story...
Your musical influences
Eagles, Garth Brooks, Dave Matthews Band, Eric Clapton, Fleetwood Mac, Chris DeBurgh
