A few guys who ordinarily play serious music here show there disgusting side. Warped sense of humor.
First appeared live in 1976, and first recorded with Magellan on "Death of A Favorite Cat" (1976-1977). First entire Phanus album was "Length Has Everything To Do With It" as part of the Magellan 15th Anniversary Collection in 1990. In 1995, PPP released "A Phanus XXX-mas". New songs occasionally emerge from the gutter. In 2001 Phanus reunited for a series of live concerts in Minnesota, delighting new and old fans alike. A new CD is planned for 2004.
Sometimes. When Fred (alias Vince Pompanelli) and Per were together in Minneapolis we discovered that we were accpted far better in such a liberal, open-minded city. Even though we're in Oklahoma City we're giving it serious consideration.
Basic, down to earth, simple songs, with no bullshit attitudes. We express gritty, honest, bare-boned thoughts that everyone would like to speak but don't. I honestly believe listeners are glad to hear someone speak their minds for them. In a situation where given the chance, many people would scream their lungs out saying the same things. We like to think of ourselves as Folk Klingons - we take no prisoners.
