CANECA is a staple of the MPB scene, having played live and in the studio with artists like Ivan Lins, Marisa Monte, Cesaria Evora, Zeca Pagodinho, Gal Costa, Caetano Veloso, Moraes Moreira, Zelia Duncan and Vanessa da Mata. His experience as a sideman led Caneca to his first CD, released in 2004. It was a tribute to the great folk composer Canhoto da ParaÃba, who's also a legendary left-handed acoustic guitar player.
