The melodic aggression performed by this two piece noise bomb can be described as if the Sex Pistols were covering Green Day while being influenced by Queens Of The Stone Age impersonating the Ramones at a Nirvana afterparty that celebrates the genius of The Beatles! What?....its TINY BLACK TANTRUM hailing from the midwest wearing their sarcasm and attitudes with a sneer of fun and rebellion. Dan and Matt were one time co-workers that never actually worked in the same building or on the same shift but shared mutual friends, musical interests and the same attitude without ever meeting or speaking with one another. Finally coming together after three years of this, they combined forces and exploded with so many songs and recordings they decided to give it a go in the public eye. Realizing that more humans could only upset the perfectly insane world they had created for themselves by themselves, they keep it a two piece buzzsaw thats short and sweet with no volume control!! The debut album "Throwin' fits for years!" was released in April 2010 and is available upon request. Currently in the studio recording the follow up which is set for a fall release of this year!
Band/artist history
We knew each other for years before we actually played together and once we did...we knew we had to start recording. We both love pretty much the same bands, hate the same people, question the same authority and are great liars in person! We DO NOT have bass on our songs because: 1. Matt has played bass in many bands for 15 years and got sick of it! 2. Matt sold his bass when he quit his job two years ago so it was easier to NOT write bass lines. 3. Engineers tend to mix the bass so low its almost not there anyway so why argue about it, and if you listen to some of the greatest albums ever made, you hear no bass...i.e...early Ramones and Oasis' "Definitely Maybe"! 4. Why upset a good friendship with some idiot trying to fit in with us!
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Yes, we have played at the Riviera Theatre in Three Rivers, MI which is a beautiful place as well as Kalamazoo and Constantine, MI. We did have a show booked in Chicago at the famous Elbo Room but cancelled our performance due to people buying Justin Beiber and Nickleback albums!
Your musical influences
So many to choose from since we like many genres..but only the good bands from those genres....here are a few: Ramones, Nirvana, the Jesus and Mary Chain, the Beatles, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Oasis, Queens Of The Stone Age, the Rolling Stones, Monster Magnet, Sex Pistols, Melvins, Duran Duran, Amen, Jucifer.
What equipment do you use?
Ludwig drums, Ibanez/Fender guitars, Fender and Ampeg amps.
Anything else?
We would just like to say that if you the listener thinks he enjoys Nickleback, Jimmy Buffet, The Doors, Jay-Z, Linkin Park or even can sit though 4 minutes of any CSI television show....just keep moving, there is NOTHING here for you!
