Your musical influences
My father is a musician and plays guitar and bass. So growing up we listened to a lot of latn jazz, funk, rock, and salsa. My dad used a 4 track tascam recorder and made his own music. His songs influenced my musical tastes the most. I love all kinds of music but live instrumentation, even studio recorded, is my favorite listen to. Hip-Hop came later. We were always kind of poor, so we lived in the hood most of my life. So naturally we heard it all in the hood. Hip-Hop became the back drop to a lot of my memories but I wasn't into it. Not until in fifth grade I started to really love the music and culture that I became a part of by environment, not necessarily choice. I wrote my first rhyme in sixth grade. I still remember how wack it was but not bad for a sixth grader. I've been studying emcees every since. Taking apart rhyme styles and cadence. Studying double rhyme word play and different styles. Trying different styles from other artists until I found my flow. I could mimic any emcee and any style they used to perfect my craft. I wanted to be the best. So all emcees have influenced me during the Golden Era, from east to west, up top to down south. That's the gospel.
