I am a versatile songwriter, that rap, sing, engineer, and produce. I fiddle around with the drums, keyboard, and guitar, but mainly like the digital synthesized instruments. I was born in Norfolk, Virginia, which is considered the 757 area code, known as the Tidewater area of Virginia, that we call the 7 Cities. I grew up listening to a lot of Rhythm & Blues, Oldies but Goodies, and Old-School Jazz. I enjoy the entire process of making music, from coming up with new ideas and concepts, to performing on stage. But the main thing I enjoy the most is interacting with the fans, and giving back to the community.
I got where I am with dedication and hard work. Never give up on your dreams.
I sung in a choir at church. I also use to battle locally in neighborhoods for money, and sing with a group in front of numerous people, which almost landed us at the Apollo. I perform at The Venue in Parc Place, which is in Norfolk, VA, that landed me in the newspaper called "The Local Link", which was sponsored by the Virginia Pilot. But I also performed at local venues, and a lot of karaoke spots in my area.
I have many influences and I don't want to leave no one out, but as far as R&B is concerned, it has to be Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Teddy Pendergrass, Sam Cooke, and Ray Charles. As far as Hip-Hop is concerned, it would have to be Biggie, Nas, Tupac, Big L, Jay-Z, The Lox, and a few others. No particular order, and the list can go on and on.
I use a midi keyboard and a drum machine when creating beats or instrumentals.
Prosperity is a state of mind.
