The One That I Adore

My dad wrote this song for my mom many years ago. It expressed how he felt about her then, and did right up until he passed away in 2010.

Cold Wind

This was the last song we did that night and it was after midnight by this time. We were all slap-happy! Mom provided the wind sound effects, LOL! You'll hear a lot of laughing on this one. We were having a ball :-)
This is the music of the late Larkin Edwards, my dad, a wonderful man who passed away too soon in February 2010. He was a gentle man who was born in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, who loved bluegrass music with a passion matched by nobody that I ever met. He taught himself to play guitar by ear. As an adult he played with several bands in the Baltimore, MD area during the 60's and 70's. I recently found an old cassette tape of his from 1987 and thought I would share it with all of you. He would have liked that. Some of these were him recording himself picking. Others were from a day when my dad and I were just picking, and my mom recorded it. There are a lot of flubs, and people laughing and carrying on in the background, and every so often you'll hear my mom, who couldn't carry a tune in a bucket, joining in :-) For anybody that loves good old time bluegrass acoustic picking, you'll enjoy my dad's music. Thank you for stopping by!
