Robin And The Giant are a duo whose primary target audience are children and parents. We have been involved in children's entertainment, mostly music and radio, since 1987. We write and produce songs and stories and we also write the dialogue included on our radio shows and CDs.
We started playing elementary schools in the late 80's. Then we had an opportunity to create radio specials for children on Digital Cable Radio. Those specials have been re-mixed and are available on CD.
Sometimes. In the early days we played live constantly. Lately we've been talking about doing more live shows again now that our children are grown. We'll see.
As a children's group I really don't think we've had much musical influence. Speaking for myself ("The Giant" aka Larry Whitler)I think pop music from the late 60s thru the 70s influenced me the most. Also, movie soundtracks seemed to make an impression on me. Robin MacBlane was more influenced by classical composers and heavy metal groups (what a mix, huh?!!).
I guess we qualify for this question. We use an acoustic guitar, an electronic keyboard, a 4-track analog recorder, and of course, a PC.
