Long Island has recently spawned a new insurgence of rock music. Home to bands such as Glassjaw, The Movielife, Brand New, Taking Back Sunday, and From Autumn to Ashes, it is also home to The Prizefighter: five energetic musicians between the ages of 21 and 23 who together form one of today's most exciting new bands. Born in 2001, The Prizefighter has played their hearts out wherever and whenever possible, showcasing with bands such as Boy Sets Fire, Ultimate Fakebook, Elliott, From Autumn to Ashes, and The Hope Conspiracy, among countless others. They have completed 4 tours, playing with From First to Last(epitaph),The Sleeping,FromAutumn to Ashes(vagrant) and Everytime I Die(ferret). They have also played several east coast Warped Tour dates and plan on play a few more this up coming summer. Their stage presence leaves a lasting impression on anyone who sees them. Whether playing to 20 close friends or 2,000 complete strangers, the band's energy and performance is never compromised. Four Leaf Recordings, a fledgling label from Long Island, picked up The Prizefighter in October 2002 and immediately sent them into the studio to record the EP "Remains," an eclectic mixture of post-melodic hardcore and passionate vocals. The EP cuts through all that is ordinary and presents the listener with an honest, raw, and genuine article of what rock 'n' roll is and always will be: an uncompromising balls to the wall explosion of passion and emotion. The Prizefighter makes use of its members different interests, views, and beliefs in every way possible, striving to capture energy rather than using it as a mere template for song structure. This stance is the formula for which The Prizefighter is known. In the constant pursuit of dreams, The Prizefighter's diversity and energy will remain for years and albums to come.
