My Name is Drediggy I'm a Hip-Hop Recording Artist From Rochester NY!
I have been actively recording and producing music since 2007. I started to Pursue my own personal recording in 2009. I released my first album in 2011 Titled, Lessons In Love & Life Volume 1: Love Is... to great reviews and my second album Lessons In Love & Life Volume 2: The Pleasures in Pain in 2012 to great reviews as well. i released a free album titled Love Always on Valentine's Day of this year on datpiff.com.
I am a Hip Hop artist at heart but I have an old soul and all of my influences come from a lot of soul and R&B and Jazz music. I am in love with the Golden age of Hip-Hop music as well and you can hear it in the music. Some of my favorite acts in no particular order are:
Joe
Keith Sweat
The Isley Brothers
A Tribe Called Quest
Nas
Rakim
LL Cool J
Vanessa Williams
Jill Scott
Music Soulchild
KRS-One
Ice Cube
Outkast
Adina Howard
Jon B
Babyface
GangStarr
EPMD
The Fat Boys
Talib Kweli
Yasiin Bey (Mos Def)
And the list could go on forever...
I have a lot of good music with a lot of Sou,l a lot of Jazz and Funk in it and I have a lot more coming and I hope you enjoy it and become a fan!
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I don't play live at the moment.
Your musical influences
My influences are all the true emcee's out there. But, to put down some names, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Common, 2pac, Nas, MC Search and Pete Nice from 3rd Bass (That's Right 3rd Bass), KRS-One, RUN-DMC, Dr. Dre, Public Enemy, Ice Cube, Snoop Dog, Coolio, Xzibit, Busta Rhymes, Wu Tang Clan (Most of them anyway), Big L, Masta Ace. Last But Not Least My Biggest Influences Are LL Cool J for his ability to change up his style to mirror the changing times, still be making music and be a force in the Hip-Hop is amazing. Over 20 years he still here. The God MC, The Microphone Fiend Rakim. What more needs to be said. His flow was evolutionary, his style is in a class of its own, and nobody has done it better than this man in Hip-Hop. If there is any man that I would want to measure up to it's him. Also, he is the only artist in my musical collection to which I have all of is CD's solo and with Eric B. and I have over 150 CD's in my collection of quality artist.
What equipment do you use?
My Computer and ACID Pro 7.0 and various kits and samples.
