Aria Fugata
We are Aria Fugata. A dedicated rock band from Aruba.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Where do I start? Well, after the ending of playing in another band for many years we brought to life Aria Fugata. It started off by me and Juni deciding no matter, what we will continue to Rock n Roll. Thus started a search to find a good guitarist with the same taste in music as us. By luck my fiancé was mentioning her cousin who played guitar and used to be very deep into Rock music. So we brought him over to my house to audition. After the first few notes of an Yngwie malsteen song, we knew right away that he was the one.
So we started thinking and agreeing on some covers. The only thing was that we still had a problem, a missing link. We had no vocalist. Without any thinking twice our thoughts fell on our old band mate and friend Shati. So, I called him up and with great enthusiasm he agreed to join us.
So now we had a band, we had enough songs for a gig, but we didnt have a name. So we started writing some names down going through a Thesaurus and came up with the name that everybody was happy with: Aria Fugata.
So in less than a year time we were up and running. The idea of this band is playing the Rock n Roll that we like and having fun while doing it.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Oh yes. We've played at Grammy's, Black Hog Salloon, Chaos Cafe. One time we did a bass and guitar solo spot. That came over very cool.
Your musical influences
We are mainly a rock band who has been influenced by many defferent types of music and bands. We have a drummer who likes Salsa and other Latin music, a guitarist who is more into alternative Rock, a vocalist who is into soul music and a bassist who loves Power Metal. Imagine what happens when you put these influences together.
