The darkness began in the spring of two thousand and two. Hailing from the grim northern streets of Manchester and originally a four way assault, time has since brought about a fifth member to the band in Danny C. Crossing genres and brutalising instruments, Archer deliver an intense, chaotic and at times painfully beautiful onslaught of noise and distorted poetry, if our souls had voices they would scream bloody murder.
As a four piece Archer recorded a short release All of your Gods are dead, enlisting the help of close band friend Creely, to produce four tracks of blistering sounds.
The progression from a four piece to a five has seen the direction and sound of the band dragged kicking and screaming into the burning pastures of musical creativity.
