Raised under Foster Care in the merciless streets of Los Angeles, Jeff knows first hand the pain of physical, sexual, alcohol and verbal abuse. For over a decade Jeff McCleary has been writing and performing music. He has made it his aspiration to hone all aspects of his musical talent. From his background as a on-air radio personality to promoting and marketing some of R&B and Gospel Musics top acts, his passion for music has been heightened by his frontline industry experience. With a renewed sense of purpose and direction for his gifts, Jeff has committed his musical focus to the Body of Christ, and endeavors to help believers reach new levels of maturity through the creative arts.
He is mentored under the close leadership of Pastor Beverly BAM Crawford at Bible Enrichment Fellowship Church in Inglewood CA where he uses his talent to edify the body of Christ. Whether it be ministering to the youth or the general congregation Jeff endeavors to be a vessel to the community by demonstrating the glory and power of God through rap music. Through his musical affiliation and partnership with one of the most explosive groups in Gospel music, Christside Souljahz Jeff, has witnessed first hand the life changing power of hip-hop music when its vessels are completely yielded to the Spirit of God.
Jeff has embraced an awesome vision for his own life to minister to people who are wounded by the state of a fallen world. Whether it be a single mother struggling to make ends meet or a child who has been molested, his purpose is the same To bring hope and renewal through the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Hailed as one of the most thought provoking Hip-Hop artists in this generation, Jeff uses his testimony of overcoming insurmountable odds to seize the ears of a lost and confused generation. Jeff McCleary passionate about his future and fueled by the burden in his heart to bring the message of healing and salvation. Jeff strives to walk worthy of his calling and is motivated to action by the conviction that The Kingdom of God is near.Have you performed in front of an audience?I have performed live on several occasions as a vocalist. Ive made a special appearance at my home church Bible Enrichment in Inglewood, CA. on Resurrection Day Sunday; Ive done showcases, youth events, and even ministered at a spiritual, I like to call it Boot camp with Al and Hatti Hollingsworth.
Your musical influences
When I was growing up I sent most of my time listening to older soulful songs. I was raised under Foster Care and went through a lot of heartbreaking challenges. I was depressed and isolated and needed something or someone to speak to me on the level I was on at that time.
People like Phyllis Hyman, Minnie Ripperton, Tina Marie and Stevie Wonder help me get through those trebling times and near suicides.What equipment do you use?
