KHASTU is the re-birth of Bronx hip hop. Born and raised in the BX, Khastu has been rapping since he could breath inspired by some of the finest to ever touch the mic. KHASTUs debut album is due out in early 2006 on Art Official Music Inc. The name Khastu is composed from the first three letters of his first and last name Khanna Stubbs. Khastus lyrical content is inspired by his own life experiences. He draws inspiration to write from incidents that happened in his own life, making his debut album more autobiographical than narrative. Being Influenced by some of the best to ever touch the mic such as KRS-ONE, RAKIM, KANE, B.I.G., Tupac and Jay-Z has its draw backs. For one, aspiring to achieve the level of skill of his idols sets his own goals very high, and KHASTU delivers with each and every verse. KHASTU explores everyday topics that listeners can relate to which has proven to establish a connection with the listeners that directly translates into cd sales and a huge following in New Yorks underground hip hop circuit. Currently, KHASTU is finishing up his debut album due out early 2006. (as yet untitled) And planning marketing and promotional showcases to support the album launch beginning in January 2006. 2005 has proven to be a big year for KHASTU. We completed a sixth month show run that included appearances at many of the New Yorks underground circuits including The Pyramid-Training camp showcase, Maria Davis, Remote Lounge The Cut showcase, Mannys Bar and Grill-A.O.M. artist showcase and many others. The response to Khastus music has been overwhelmingly positive and we look forward to 2006!!!
