Ant Chedda

Born in Monterrey & raised in both Germany and Fairfield, California, Ant Chedda is a gifted singer, emcee and songwriter that shares an incomparable passion for music with everyone he meets. Ant has always made singing the foundation in the progression of his musical history: from his humble beginnings as back-up singer in his older brother's music group, I.M.P.A.C.T.; to assimilating singing/arranging/writing duties for past & present groups DeJa Vu, DeFi and ANAk; to singing and writing for the Lo Key Quintet, Breakstone, and the City Lights (in addition to collaborating with numerous, talented producers like DJ Swift Rock, Usef Dinero, and Young Mos). His collaboration with the City Lights on the track "California" led to two appearances on the World-Famous Wake Up Show for achieving Runner's Up honors. Citing Donnell Jones, Dru Hill, Babyface & Musiq Soulchild as his earliest inspirations, Ant Chedda's incessant desire to create good music is a reflection of the versatility, creativity and soul inherent in his debut mixtape, "Process of Progress." Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
In a nutshell, I sang in 3 singing groups and started to come into my own around 2006.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I do perform live.. i've been performing since i was in 8th grade. I did countless shows around the whole Bay Area, Southern California, Las Vegas and Hawaii. Recently, i was fortunate enough to sing the National Anthem at a NBA game, and i also gotta chance to open up for the multi-platinum R&B artist Jon B. I'd like to say the one the biggest moments in my career was having my first radio interview on the world famous "Wake Up Show with Sway and King Tech". That was pretty DOPE!!
Your musical influences
I grew up listening to alot of R&B male vocal groups like Boyz II Men, Jodeci, Shai, Troop, and my favortie group Dru Hill. As far as individual artists i'd say Donell Jones, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson. My music is also influenced from alot of Hip Hop. Artists of the likes of The Notorious B.I.G, Jay-Z, and Phonte helped me structure my writing in a form of storytelling and clever cadences.
What equipment do you use?
