Annette Haas

Annette Haas was born in Kitchener Waterloo. I moved to Hamilton in 1987 to attend Mohawk College, where I gradutated with honours from the Applied Music Program. From 1989-1992, I played with various jazz ensembles, including November Nights jazz quartet, The Annette and Shawn Jazz Duo, The Harry Waller Big Band, and The Harold Namaro Jazz Ensemble. In 1992, Annette met Adam Ostrosser, and not long after, the Adam and Annette duo was created. Adam and Annette have been playing over 200 shows a year for over 10 years, performing in pubs, bars, private parties, weddings, and cooperate events. We've released two albums: Adam and Annette, and An Adam and Annette Christmas. As well as playing with Adam and Annette, I've played with the successful Canadian disco band, The Travoltas and have enjoyed touring both Canada and the United States with them. Sessions for Skin and Bone began in 2000, at Westmoreland Studio in Burlington Ontario. Busy schedules kept sessions to a minimum, but the album gained momentum in 2002, coming together in 2004. Currently, I continue to gig with Adam Ostrosser, and The Travoltas, as well as Burlingtons 905 Band. I play bass for Mike Trebilcock (The Killjoys), sing in the Just Friends jazz trio, and do the occasional solo gig.
