I Can See Clearly Now I Can See Clearly Now
A cover of the classic Johnny Nash hit, only this version features oboe, English horn, steel drum and Anna Fisher! A new flavor to a beloved hit recorded in Hollywood, Compton and Los Angeles.
A Child Is Born A Child Is Born
Written by Dave Grusin, Anna Fisher's arrangement for oboe and Bill Winslow's piano stylings of this gorgeous classic will paint rainbows on your heart.
There's A Reward Anna Fisher with Third World There's A Reward Anna Fisher with Third World
This album was nominated for a Grammy as Reggae Album of the Year. Blessed to have been asked by Third World to record Joe's song with my favorite foundation Reggae group! You'll love the sound of my oboe with these world famous voices delivering
Break The Silence - Stop The Violence Break The Silence - Stop The Violence
Anna's original composition brings light to a painfully disturbing subject wreaking havoc in our households today. From her own experience, she wanted to give back to those who still suffer today encouraging them to reach out and seek help.
Song For My Father Song For My Father
Anna's smooth double reed stylings over Jawge's soulful keyboard arrangements of Horace Silver's classic jazz hit make this track outstanding! Guitar solos by Dale Hauskins lend a caribbean flare to this powerful track.
Irie Greetings Massive,
Anna Fisher here hailing you up from the Golden State, specifically Los Angeles. I'll be blunt, you need to take a listen to a cool sound that we're getting on an oboe and and English horn rubbing against the luscious keyboard stylings of, Jawge Hughes. When I first started taking lessons, the usual knee jerk response was, "What's an oboe?" although the savvy few with some degree of musical education would respond, "Gorgeous instrument the oboe, but it's one of the hardest instruments to play! What made you choose oboe?" and I usually respond, "Yes, hard, but I love the sound sooooooo much!" Listen to any classical symphony or opera and tell me the oboist's melodies aren't the most beautiful, well at least equally as gorgeous as the English horn or French horn's mournful and triumphant solos. But an orchestra is like any team and every member is interdependent. No one instrument is more or less important than another except for those who carry the most important solos and nail them flawlessly night after night! This comes with years of practice and commitment. Please listen closely, this music has lots of fresh ideas you're sure to appreciate. We felt it was time for something new that we weren't hearing out there and made a commitment to create this lifesong. So here we are and here's our sound. Please sign the message board with your ideas and if you think your friends will like it,
pass it on.
Please help us change the world,
one heart at a time,
right now!
Thank you very much,
Peace, One Love and Light,
Anna FisherAna and Jawge began rehearsing for the road in October 2004. However, they've collaborated ever since they met each other at Joe Higgs New Years Eve Show in 1998 at Leimert Park in Los Angeles. While discussing where Jawge was from on St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Anna explained that she had been the Elementary Music Teacher for St. John Public Schools for 10 years and actually taught his cousins (Richards Family of St. John) for many years. As we start naming names we realized we knew so many of the same people and vowed to return one day. Many of his fondest memories from youth contained visits to St. John for family gatherings and summer vacations away from the urban environment of the housing development he returned home to each night. We unreservedly present you our dream for balance in the world hoping that this music will build those dreams of youth into clearer focus. We both had heard, "Do what you love and the money will follow!" To which we all thought was a beautiful standard to live by. We love it, it was a labor of love from beginning to end.Have you performed in front of an audience?Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Quincy Jones, Michael Jackson and The Jackson Five, Third World Band, Steel Pulse, Luciano, Beres Hammond, Dean Fraser, Calton Coffie, Ed Townsend, Ali Woodsen, Al Wison, Chaka Khan, Diana Ross and The Supremes, Marvin Gaye, Barbara Morrison, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Mary Martin, Julie Andrews, Basia, The Beatles, The Who, The Rolling Stones, Cat Stevens, Carole King, Horace Silver, Kevin Eubanks, Cuba Gooding, Sr., Lui Lui Satterfield, Rick James, Tina & Ike Turner, Whoopi Goldberg, Ellen Degeneres, Jay Leno, David Letterman, Carson Daley, Conan O'Brien.Anything with a chip.Words cannot describe this music.
