We are a rap-metal based band. We do this taking infleunces from Rage Against The Machine, Limp Bizkit to Mr Bungle and more.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
From Rap To The Old School
Anger Is A Gift formed in January of 2002. Over the course of the past two and a half years of Anger being around alot has happened. It all starts with a passion for one of the greatest bands to ever step foot on a state. Rage Against The Machine. A long time Rage fan named Anthony Grand-Scrutton was looking to get into a rap based band when luck would come his way in the form of Roy Foster. Roy was round Anthony's house one day and the video to Rage's "Bullet In The Head" hit the screen. Roy was instantly in love with the diversity and technique of Tom Morello. A few days later Aj (Anthony) recieved a call from Buster (Roy) stating that he wanted to form a band purely inspired by Rage Against The Machine. He then got in long time friend and ex-Elysium bassist Dan Rankin to join later followed by Dan "The Beast" Dacosta drummer for Black Ice at the time. The band was complete around 12 days after their first practice Anger had a gig in front of their local school/college. Just under a year afterwards Anger parted ways with bassist Dan Rankin who went on to join Ska/Punk band Mrs Dominic. At this point Jolen Haddon-Silver joined the roster. Jolen brought a new larger sound with him an a near unbeatable stage presence. He played a big part in some of the newest Anger songs. Then Anger and Jolen came to a disagreement on Musical Direction and had to part ways. Bringing up to current day when Glen "Gex" Extance joined the band. Gex is a long time friend of all the members and also plays for local bands such as Fusuara (Previously Fusion) and Rapier. Gex has brought with him a more old school Anger feel and a fresh new outlook on performance. After only one performance the 3rd Version line up has been credited as being the best. That's right as if a bomb exploded out of nowhere arose another slight change in the line-up. This time not a loss oh no but a very large gain. Long time friend of Aj Anger a Mr Dj Dojo came down for a jam and it was love at first scratch he has now become a full fledged member so the story of Anger V3 continues.....
