Having already traveled the globe, Rich, Mike and Matt decided to get together and prepare to do it again, but with someone else paying for it. Angelfire is a new project from songwriter Rich Wheatley.
Rich was keyboard player with The Streets during the first album tour. After getting fed up with singing songs he didn’t believe in, he decided to write some of his own. The result is largely guitar-based, although we are certainly not afraid to throw in a bunch of mangled electronics a la NIN/Radiohead/Super Furry Animals.
For Rich who has performed keyboards on ‘Doves’ acclaimed album ‘Lost souls’, and toured the globe with probably the most original new UK artist of the past decade ‘Mike Skinner of ‘the streets’, the musical life has been scattered with rare musical highlights. Matt who has worked at Abbey Road Studios as an assistant engineer has worked with some of the industries greatest talents in a recording capacity. Mike’s career highlight is performing drums on the prodigy single ‘Girls’ on their 2005 release.Band/artist history
