Andre Seifert
I am an independent singer/songwriter and I have just finished the recording and production of my first album.
It's called "A Single Ray" - and it's the fulfilment of a dream.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I'm looking forward to presenting my album live as soon as possible. I can't wait to do that.
Your musical influences
It's a universe of very different influences, ranging from very pure folk like the earliest Judy Collins-records to more groove-oriented acts like Edie Brickell & New Bohemians and an independent genius like David Garza. Somewhere in between there are people like Nico, Joni Mitchell, Carly Simon and also a certain Mediterranean, Oriental influence represented by people like Haris Alexiou and Manos Loizos.
My own work has been compared to very different artists so far, like Cat Stevens on one side of the spectrum and Tool on the other side.
I'd say I'm a folksinger at heart, it's all about connecting - reminding ourselves of our buried dreams of a better life, making ourselves believe in them.
