Andrea Reschke
Powerful, passionate and meaningful are just a few words to describe the performance of Andrea Reschke as she sings her songs about love, lessons and life. Some of her inspirations include artists such as Tori Amos, Ani DiFranco, and Jewel. She creates captivating songs with a style similar to that of Sarah McLachlan.
Andrea was born and raised near Cedaredge, Colorado. From a young age, this small-town girl has always utilized music with hopes of touching the lives of people around her. Kindergarten started a 12-year journey of piano lessons in addition to playing the oboe & clarinet through Jr. High and High School. Singing came naturally from the earliest time she remembers. She sang at home with her mom as a young child and developed confidence to perform in church at the age of 10 and in a national touring childrens chorus at the age of 14. She started putting the two together (singing & playing the piano), unleashing a hidden talent of songwriting. Coming from a family of many other musicians, Andrea has a talent that has been in her blood for decades
In Jr. High School, Andrea found writing to be a positive outlet and release of her feelings. Many people have wiped their eyes dry after being touched by the song Becky, written about a wonderful and positive teacher who battled with cancer. It tells the story from Andreas point of view, a student trying to understand the death of Ms. Jardon. It is a truly moving song in which many people relate.
After high school, Andrea headed to sunny California to face the challenge of life and independence. Many more experiences stimulated new songs and still continue to do so. At the beginning of 2005, Andrea started performing at open mics throughout San Diego County. She continues to pursue her dream of making a living with her music by sharing her inspirations with the world and touching lives in the meantime!
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I play live all over San Diego County. I thrive on playing out. It's great to have the opportunity to perform songs that I've created.
