Amputated play kick Ass Moshable Death Metal that meets somewhere in the middle of old and new styles of Death Metal. Influences can include Nunslaughter, Exhumed, Six Feet Under, Carcass, Jungle Rot and the old guard like Bolt Thrower, Celtic Frost/Hellhammer, Massacre etc. Additional influences are taken from the likes of more brutal bands such as Waco Jesus, Lividity, Devourment, Disgorge and C.B.T.

Amputated formed in Spring 2002. They got together after the demise of their previous bands which, as fate has it happened almost around the same time.
After the usual rehearsing and playing some gigs. Word started to spread about their aggressive live shows making an impact on the scene. The demo ‘Up to our nuts in guts’ was soon recorded and after a few months they roped in Ollie from Desecration as their second guitarist and Andi from Mulch who replaced Martin on bass to complete the line-up. January 2004 saw ‘Up to our nuts in guts’ released through UK Label IBD Records as part of a split CD with Belgium Death/Grind band Leptotrichia.
